I'm delighted and honored to be chosen to be an ambassador for The Society for All Artists and to represent their range of Watercolour Paints. I have been a PA ( professional associate tutor) for the SAA for about 8 years now. They produced my tree painting video tip for me and gave me a place in their publication 101 painting tips. I'ts a pleasure to continue to work closely with them.
Using decent equipment is so important when you are learning to paint with Watercolour. There are so many inferior products on the market which are a waste of money. Due to the technical aspect of watercolour painting its best to use good paints and paper ..otherwise mastering the processes can become even more challenging, I think lots of people are put off early because they have the wrong gear...I hate painting of cheap paper and paints..there is just no comparison with the true artist materials.  The SAA Watercolour paints are Artist quality, however they are available at a very competitive price from their online shop. These paints are not available in shops.
They have a wonderful choice of materials and papers such as the Sanders & Waterford range, I'm a big fan of their Cotton rich paper..I love the rough surface. I also recommend the SAA Bockingford as a great paper to learn on, its takes a bit of punishment without falling apart.
If you are going to learn to paint seek advice before you buy...from an artist or teacher not the shop attendant in the Hypermarket's art department...they need to sell you something there and then..its their job.

Direct from Lesnick Art Products USA You can't buy these in shops theyre only from Carols Art here in the UK. Whatever medium you paint in they are a valuable tool in your painting kit...and although Funny in appearance .they make some serious Artwork. Brexit and the
Pound drop have effected the price slightly but then this is the first increase in five years. £14.95 plus postage . Discount available on ten or more sets
Save postage and buy from me direct at a fair, class or book a Funny Brush workshop or Demo for your art club.

Art is good for you!!!

I've always promoted the benefit to our well-being that painting has.
Research has now shown that Painting is one of the best ways to preserve our brains and help with Dementia and Alzheimers. Retirement is a great time to take up painting. Lots of time to practice. I can bring art to the elderly on there sheltered living homes and care homes.

I'm delighted to have been included in this SACHET MIXTE WOMEN ARTISTS edition 4 It's lovely to read all of the biographies from the other Artists and and learn how they developed as people and Artists and what there inspiration and influences are .now available on Amazon.

In my entry I try to show a variety of my work . Different subjects and work does vary so much..but one thing o love is colour.
One thing that many will find interesting is how so many Artists haven't been to Art School and like myself are self taught

Why not treat yourself to a copy from Amazon? I'm not plugging the book to make commission as all I get from it is the credit for my work. It's nice to get recognition after years of slog to make your name in the Art World.

I'm sure anyone who is interested in or studying art will find this an interesting and inspirational read.

Carol White..."Art in our lives".

I was asked a short while ago if I would like to take part in some filming for Education China, on their TEA TIME show which was running a series about self employed people and the different types of businesses they ran in the UK.

This was not my usual sort of request for a ‘how to paint’ discussion, instead it was to talk about the importance of ‘Art in or Lives’. I am a great advocate for this topic but wasn’t sure how I would manage in-front of a camera. Anyway I shall let you decide...

Many thanks  The North East Art Collective and their artists for providing such a nice film location. ..and to Walter Homes whose painting I chose to talk about. The film is live on You Tube and can be viewed from this link below

Outdoor painting classes are back on the menu for my regular groups. Visiting painters are welcome... space permitting .

Outdoor & Summer painting workshops 2014 were a success ..great weather too. More workshop will be set for this coming year

Mornings are always best to capture the light and the sun of course coming across Marsden Bay. Café and toilets on site.

A Special treat as we visit my friends at their cottage nestled in the Tees Valley. They have an Artist studio (in case of summer showers or monsoons) with a view across the valley and set in the beautiful and extensive natural meadow garden.

‘Ladies Day ‘Oil Painting at home with me 10.30 -3.30  £30 inc paints

By special request and after the success of our rained off painting day two summers ago when we piled into my conservatory as a last resort, I am offering another Oil painting day at home.. bring your own canvas or board (limited to max 6). Snacks and refreshments are provided.

I've also just done some filming for Education China TV. A short programme entitled 'Art in our Lives' It will be part of a TV series designed to show different aspects of people at work in the UK. It will be shown to young people looking to come to England to study in Universities. I look forward to seeing the results later in the year and will share them here on my website too.
Thanks to John at North East Collective for allowing us to film in the gallery.
My Walking the Dog & Rainy Paintings are proving so popular. Everyone loves them especially dog owners so I'm now taking commissions to personalise these.
You can have the likenesses of your friend or family member with their favourite breed of canine captured in this way.
